This set of backgammon terms may not be much, but it can still provide you with some of the commonly used words in the world of backgammon. Anti-Joker - this term signifies an extremely awful roll of the dice committed by the gambling player.
Army - this is the arrangement of the markers on the backgammon board, and it is called as such because the markers are like soldiers. They are strategically placed and moved by the gambling player to work as a team towards one goal, that is to win.
Automatic Doubles - if backgammon is played as a gambling game, the stakes could be automatically doubled if at the first rolls of dice of the gambling players are alike.
Backgammon Board - this is where the gambling game of backgammon is played. The board has triangles, twenty four in all. They are colored in alternating shades, but the colors really don't have much importance.
Backgammon Server - backgammon is among the gambling games which can also be played online. The host of an online game of backgammon is called a backgammon server. It processes the games of the gambling players, plus it keeps records of the results of the games. To be able to play using a backgammon server, a gambling player must first install the client software into his computer.
Back Man - this is the term for a gambling player's marker which is being left behind by the other markers. It is called sometimes as the runner. This is may be because it has to "run" just to catch up with the other markers.
Baffle Box - this is a gadget used by the gambling players in rolling a dice. The dice are dropped here to make the roll more random. This is a way of ensuring fairness to all gambling players who are enjoying the game of backgammon.
